SeaTac Airport:

The drive from SeaTac Airport is about 1 1/2 hours from Mount Vernon.

Campers/Trailers:

You may park your “rig” along the street next to Hillcrest Park which is just four houses from mine. There are also many RV parks and State Parks close by.

We may be very lucky, for the Tulip Festival begins April 1st, however, if the warm weather persists, it’s likely that the tulip will be blooming along with the daffodils. Therefore, for those planning on staying for the weekend, it’s important to make hotel reservations as soon as possible.

Come up early. relax and don’t be in a hurry.  The Skagit Valley has much to offer!  There will be a display table at the reception hall with brochures on Skagit County or come early and stop by the Visitor’s Center next to the Amtrak Station (which is only .6 miles from my house.)

LaConner offers you a world-class shopping experience with it’s old town setting along with a beautiful waterfront atmosphere. The LaConner Quilt Museum in one of ten quilt museums in America.

Whidbey Island:

Whidbey Island offers an endless variety of activities. After visiting Whidbey, enjoy a thirty minute ferry ride to Port Townsend, known as the “City of Dreams.”  Port Townsend is a national landmark and a Victorian Seaport. On your travels, the most visited State Park in Washington, is Deception Pass State Park.

Bellingham:

This town is just seventeen miles north of Mount Vernon, selected as one of the “Best Places” to visit, live and retire.  It’s the home to Western Washington University, sitting high atop the city looking out towards Bellingham Bay.

Chuckanut Drive:

This drive is beautiful, slow-paced and an alternative to interstate 5 that connects Bellingham to Skagit County. Along the drive are gorgeous farmlands and some of the best restaurants.  From here you overlook the San Juan Islands. The drives continues all the way to a 1880’s brick town known as Fairhaven, now a suburb of Bellingham.

I hope you will come early and take advantage of this rich area. Thank you for all your love and support in honoring Barbara.
